How to Predict Categories From Linear Discriminant Analysis in Excel
Linear Discriminant Analysis is used to predict the categories of a categorical variable based on the respondent's values from two or more numeric variables. The predicted categories from LDA can be saved to your data set using Machine Learning > Save Variable(s) > Discriminant Variables. Sometimes, it is necessary to make these predictions outside of Q, e.g. in a spreadsheet or an online tool. This page describes how to get the required data from the LDA to set up the calculation in Excel.
