Data Sets

Add to Project

From File Add a data file to the project.

From URL Add data from a URL.

From Database (SQL) Add a database query (SQL) to the project.

From R Use R Code to generate or obtain data, and add it to the project.

Update Update one of the data sets with a new version, updating all calculations and tables.

Edit Names Change the names that have been assigned to your data sets.

Edit Relationships Define relationships between your data sets.

Remove Remove a data set from the project.

New Project Create a new, empty project.

Open

Existing Project Opens a previously saved Q project.

Example Project Open one of the example projects that comes with Q.

Recent Projects List of recently saved projects.

Save Saves the project.

Save As Save the project with a different file name.

Export

To PDF Exports table(s) as Adobe Acrobat PDF files (*.pdf), using the Project Options.

To Office Exports data to Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Data File Export a copy of the data set as an SPSS or CSV file.

Share

Send to Q Support (Encrypted) Upload an encrypted copy of your project and data sets to Q Support.

Online Dashboard Securely uploads the project as an online dashboard to app.displayr.com

EMail Attaches your project and data to a new e-mail message that includes instructions for downloading Q. Use this to send projects to clients. This will only work if your e-mail package is properly installed on your PC.

Page Setup Setup options for printing.

Print Prints the selected table(s), using the Project Options.

Print Preview Preview the table(s) to be printed.

Exit Closes Q.

Earlier Versions of Q

This page describes the File menu in Q4.11.

Import New Data File (New Project) Select an SPSS or CSV file to commence a new project.

Open Existing Project … Opens a previously saved Q project.

Save Project Saves the project to enable it to be re-opened.

Save Project As… Allows the file to be saved with a different file name.

Send Package - Via E-Mail Attaches your project and data to a new e-mail message that includes instructions for downloading Q. Use this to send projects to clients. This will only work if your e-mail package is properly installed on your PC.

Send Package - Save As File As above, but the package is saved into a file, not attached to an e-mail. Use this if the above command doesn't work or you want to transfer the file to your client by some other means (e.g. CD).

Share as Dashboard Securely uploads the project as an online dashboard to displayr.com

Add Data to Project | From File... Adds another data file to the project, enabling you to have multiple data files.

Add Data to Project | From Database (SQL)... Adds a database query (SQL) to the project, enabling you to have multiple data files.

Import Updated Data File (Current Project)… Imports updated data into a project, updating all calculations and tables.

Remove Data File... Remove one of the data files from the project. Only enabled if the project has multiple data files.

Export Selected Variables to Excel... Exports the raw data of selected variables to Excel

Export to Office... Exports data to Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Export to PDF... Exports table(s) as Adobe Acrobat PDF files (*.pdf), using the Project Options.
