Applying a Segmentation to New Data

There are two main ways to apply a segmentation to new data:

• If you conduct the segmentation in a study with a filter on, you can remove the filter.
• You can import a revised data file. The new data file needs to match on variable names and value attributes.

In both cases, you will be asked if you wish to regrow the tree (i.e., re-create the segments). You should click Ignore. The segmentation variable that is created in your data file will now be applying the previous segmentation to the additional data. You should not click Ignore if you have reordered the input data; you should instead either regrow the tree or revert the data to its original order.

Note that when you do this, numbers on the tree will update, to reflect the results for the entire data set.
